Cookies and privacy
The Meridian uses one optional measurement tool, Google Analytics. This page says what it does and how to switch it on or off.
What Google Analytics measures
If you choose Accept, Google Analytics records the pages you open and a few actions on them: opening the menu, sharing an issue, signing up, and following a link to a source or to one of our games. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to two years, and Google processes the data.
We never send Google your email address, and nothing is measured on the unsubscribe page.
It is optional
Nothing from Google loads, and no analytics cookie is set, until you choose Accept. If you choose Reject, or make no choice, Google Analytics never runs. The site works the same either way.
Changing your mind
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. If you withdraw your consent, measurement stops and the analytics cookies are deleted from this site. Your choice is kept in your browser for six months, then we ask again.
What else we keep
Your cookie choice is stored in your browser, under the name mrd_consent. If you accepted, signing up leaves a short note in the open tab so the sign-up is counted once. When you sign up, we keep your email address to send you The Meridian, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
